Polo Clinic Options

Ladies Classic

Having been a longtime advocate for women in the sport of polo, Memo Gracida along with his wife, Meghan Gracida, has created a women’s polo clinic, known as La Herradura Ladies Classic, to continue to improve and educate women players.

Specific to the growing women’s sport, the La Herradura Ladies Classic will cover topics including but not limited to: winning the throw-in, knock-in strategy, horsemanship, fouls and penalties, player positioning, and game flow.

These 1 to 2 week-long programs will consist of individualized clinics in the mornings with riding, stick and balling, and fun drills designed by Memo. Along with his instructions, you will receive help from qualified high-goal women players, dedicated to improving your game immediately. Each La Herradura Ladies Classic attendee will be provided well-schooled, professionally trained polo ponies.

Women's Tournament

Sunny Hale

2020 WCT Qualifier
La Herradura Polo and Equestrian Center
Santa Ynez, CA
Date August 26th - August 30th 2020

In honor of the late Sunny Hale, Memo and Meghan Gracida have created this WCT qualifying tournament in the hopes of bringing women together on the beautiful West Coast. Hale, the all-time greatest women’s polo player, died February 26, 2017, in Norman, OK. due to complications from cancer. She was just 48-years old. The Gracida Family created this annual tournament to encapsulate the foundation in women’s polo that Sunny laid by continuing to provide a competitive and positive playing environment for women
to elevate their level of polo.

Starting in 2018, this annual tournament started with just four teams. It has now grown to two flights with the involvement of corporate sponsorship. While the tournament not only provides excellent women’s polo on some of the best fields in the world, it also hosts fun social events to further build the camaraderie of the sport. Women’s polo remains the largest growing sector in the sport and is nearing the 50 percent member mark in the USPA. According to the U.S. Polo Association, there are now more collegiate registered women members than collegiate registered male members.
